Dr. Cole Hedgecock

Senior Pastor

Responsibilities: My primary responsibility is to lead the church to be the perfect place for imperfect people to connect with God and others.

Family: My wife Christy & I met while I was serving at Prestonwood Baptist church as the Open Division Minister and Pastor of Zig Ziglar’s Encouragers Class. We have 4 incredible children: Chloe, Coleman, Clay, and Carly!

Hobbies: As a father of 4, most of my free time is wrapped up in coaching my kid’s teams, taking them to the pool, and other family activities. I work out regularly, enjoy golf (all 3-5 times a year), and am a sports fan.

Education: Doctor of Ministry (Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary), Master of Divinity (Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary), B.A. (Oklahoma Baptist University).

Experience: God has allowed me to serve as a student pastor, summer missionary, education minister, executive pastor, and senior pastor in Texas and Oklahoma.

Favorite verses: John 10:10, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” And John 15:11, “These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.”

Favorite Books: The Present Future by McNeal, The Holy Wild by Buchannan, and Transforming Children Into Spiritual Champions by Barna

Hunter Smith

Pastor of Ministries

Responsibilities: My primary role is to lead the student and young adult ministries at FBC Rowlett. 

Family: I met my wife Selena while serving at Casa View Baptist Church. We have been married since March 2020.

Hobbies: I love fishing, hunting and pretty much anything outdoors. Selena and I enjoy spending time with our friends in the young adult ministry here at FBCR.

Education: Master of Divinity (Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary), B.A. (Dallas Baptist University).

Experience: I have had the opportunity to serve as a children’s intern, student intern, middle school ministry resident and student pastor prior to serving in my current role at FBC Rowlett.

Favorite verse: 2 Corinthians 5:21, “For our sake he made him to be sin who know no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”

Michael Armstrong

Worship Pastor

Responsibilities: Leading and managing the worship ministry of our church. 

Family: I am blessed with a wonderful wife, Jennifer. We are fortunate to have three children, Nolan, Wes, and Lori

Walter A. Guillaume

Executive Pastor

Responsibilities: Assist the Pastor in planning for the relocation of FBC Rowlett to its new location. 

Family: I am blessed with a wonderful wife, Martha. We are fortunate to have one son, David, who is married to Allison and they have two wonderful daughters: Abby and Aubrey

Hobbies: travel, walking, and history nerd. 

Education: BA from Baylor University, and two Masters degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary

Jason Bennett

Student Minister

Responsibilities: My main responsibility is to make sure we are the perfect place for imperfect students, impacting students with the Gospel.

Family: I met my wife Lucie here at FBC Rowlett, and we got married May 22, 2022!

Hobbies: Some of my hobbies are exercise, golf, and frisbee golf.

Education: Currently pursuing a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. B.A. in Biblical Studies (Dallas Baptist University).

Experience: God has given me the opportunity to serve as the youth intern for 2 years before stepping into my current role.

Favorite verses: Psalm 23:4, “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me”.

Favorite Books: I like “Celebration of Discipline” by Richard J. Foster and “The Call” by Oz Guinness.
